G.I. Joe

Ever since I became a real engineer, I just cannot watch sci-fi movies anymore without laughing my eyes out. (Do NOT even get me started with the terrifying nonsense that was Wall-E.) At least the corny promotional videos that engineering firms and manufacturers show on their websites are based on real cutting edge technology. Science fiction these days honestly seem incapable of evolving out of the original Star Wars series. Only after watching these movies do I realize how high tech the work I am doing actually is, and that regular people who are blissfully non-engineers will probably have absolutely no idea on what I do for a living.

Well, I did hear that G.I. Joe was nonsense to even those aforementioned non-engineers. The movie was hilarious for all the wrong reasons. Dare watch the movie only if you are interested in watching ridiculous science fiction that pretty much does not care for anything else. (The future is in nanotech!)

The big, big life-saver for this movie was that Byung-hun Lee was extremely hot and amazingly proficient in English. Did I mention that Byung-hun Lee was extremely hot? I would even watch the blatantly advertised sequel as well if Lee were to appear again. Even if the second movie is as corny as the first one. And Byung-hun Lee was extremely hot.

  1. Haven't watched G.I. Joe yet.. but Channing Tatum is cute hehehe one of the reasons for me to watch it.. that is... if I ever do...

I grew up watching the G.I. Joe cartoon so it's one of those things I wish people will just not try to make it live action.. which is why I'll never watch Transformers either.. can you imagine how ridic it would be if people tried to make Taekwon V or DokSuRi 5HyungJae into live action? Ewwww

  4. The real life version of Dragon Ball did indeed come out this year, but it was such a commercial flop that not many people actually noticed its coming and going.
